OK, I'll start a new topic, since we need one.

One theme that I like to see in stories is interrogation. I'm not sure why, but it may be that the pain, humiliation, or whatever, has a purpose behind it, which is to coerce her into cooperating. There are some very good examples of this on RPP. Conwic is a Dark Prince of rape and torture stories, and has contributed some real gems to RPP.

One of my favorite stories on RPP is "An Asian Interrogation". Truly amazing stuff. If there were a Nobel Prize for RPP stories, this would win it.

One thing I've noticed about a lot of interrogation stories is that the writer will often resort to the device of using an 'innocent" victim, and so set up a sort of "Marathon Man" scenario. The subject has no information to give, can't answer the interrogator's questions, and this gives the interrogator reason to keep going and going.  All well and good, but I prefer situation where the subject must at some point break and give in to the interrogator. It's much better to watch a strong, proud, highly resistant subject try to hold out and eventually fail.

I may write more about this later, but duty calls...

I loved the series by ... Cortez was it?

The ones with the Colonel and his evil female torturer and lots of heat and electricity and needles ...

Personally, I've always liked real historical interrogation.

You know, the church never has officially ended the inquisition.

What?  Don't look at me like that!  It's one of those things every pagan should know.

No ,but seriously, the Malleus Maleficarum has arguably directly caused more deaths than the bible, and certainly caused more outside of a war.

I suppose someone is going to get around to pointing out:

1)  The branch of the Catholic Church that the Holy Inquisition became had Ratzinger in charge, pre-Pope.

2)  The word in Aramaic that is translated as "witch" in "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" can be just as validly translated as "poisoner".

3)  The assertion that the witch hunts caused the deaths of as many people as the Holocaust is historically untenable.

4)  Anyone using numbered points on a web-forum, particularly one based on kinky sex, is clearly emotionally unbalanced.

So I figured I'd point them all out myself.

Spanish Inquisition, you say?  Hmmmm. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm a 21st Century kind of guy. I like my modern conveniences. Things like electric shock, dental drills, and other marvels of modern technology. Besides, the modern clinical look, powerful electric lighting is just so much better. And those harsh modern lights give the interrogator a much better view of the subject as she thrashes and bucks and heaves against the restraints.

Agreed.  I too personally enjoy more modern forms of torture.

But torturing those who have sometime to actually confess is more fun that torturing the innocent, in my opinion.  Doesn't mean you need to stop torturing them when they break, but they should have something to break to.

Torch light does, indeed, rock.

The shimmering glow in her eyes, as they glisten up with tears and widen with fear...

Yes.

But, in the modern setting, a powerful spotlight, shining in her face, her eyes struggle to adjust, to find her tormentor in the shadows ...

At least we agree on the torture part!

But talking doesn't necessarily end the torture. After all, once they've confessed, once they've given it up, they have to be reeducated, don't they? Or perhaps the State calls it therapy, or treatment, or what have you, designed to break down her personality so completely that it never reforms. This may take some time.

For the truly unfortunate, there is always the possibility of being used as a demonstration subject for training apprentice torturers. (Interrogators must be trained, after all.) This can last as long as the prisoner is still alive, and responsive. They might also be assigned to the research division, as a test subject for new interrogation drugs and other procedures. Especially attractive prisoners might be given, as a reward to a high ranking official of he State, or to a military officer. In some cases, the prisoner might be made available to a large group of officers or officials. Over time, she might be used by clients of diminishing rank, as she is gradually used up.
