Didn't know where to put this, but just wanted to say I finally got hold of my own copy of the Divine Marquis' Justine.  Everybody into erotic fiction and evil Sadism MUST READ THIS BOOK.  It's just unbelievable.  Not 'wank' material, but just mindblowing.

If I said I had a facsimile copy of a Victorian illustated edition, would it seem obnoxious?

And would saying I can't remember where I put it make it better or worse?

Not obnoxious at all - I think I'm going to collect editions of it now!  Anyway, if I knew about this book when I was struggling through high school French, I would have paid a hell of a lot more notice.  I hear it's roughly 10 times better in the original language.
