I agree having codes is a good thing. I am not very savvy when it comes to website design, so I have no idea what is involved. I just thought I would toss out some ideas.

Glad to have your input. We had discussed some of your ideas earlier, when the forum first opened. They are good ideas and most of us would like to see a more advanced search ability. An enhanced search function would allow a lot more data to be included. Things like length and if there are additional parts to the story.

At this time though, the site won't support a new search capability. Maybe sometime in the future, your ideas can be implamented.

Keep on thinking and speaking your mind. That's what this forum is for.

Just to put in a little bit of input - if rppstories ever does go to a more advanced system, I would check it out thoroughly firsthand, as another story site is now stuck with a database system that is very time consuming to implement, and which cannot be updated or modernised without virtually starting again (and potentially losing lots of data).

I've never minded that rppstories doesn't have any complicated search functions, but that might be because I know that it is exclusively M/f (or at least 95%, with the other stories containing M/f plus other things) and non-con - both of which are pretty much essential for me to enjoy a story.

Moth,

I'm positive that Ale will give it a careful look before anything is done. He seems pretty savvy about that stuff!

Ale is indeed savy about this sort of thing although, he will deny it to the grave.. cuz it usually equals more work which he has a lot of already.. but its on the *honeydo* list.

Be well... Ale and I are outta here till Dec 15th and Sprayman is God... pay homage and play nice all!

xxoo

oo one pic I need to share in the completely wrong area.. but so what..

I'm not volunteering, but if you take a look at our forum, and note the activity (20,000 posts a month), I hope you'll accept some friendly advice. To my knowledge Elliquiy is now the most active SRP forum on the Internet, currently surpassing Literotica's SRP forum.

You have -way- too many forums.

Separating out by story type is good, but aside from that, if people have to scroll down to see whether or not a board has been posted in, they may miss it. If people have to click out of a forum to see new posts, they may forget. They may also be confused as to where to post. You have two rules forums (why?), another just for saying how to access the Author's corner, a separate news/announcements forum, and a bunch of separate forums that could well be topics or simply merged into a general discussion area.

By my count, you should have six non-story forums, and six story forums.

When you get all nice and super-active, you can split out appropriate topics, of course. It's easy, but, you should let your membership vote with their posts on what needs to get split out, don't force it on them.

Anyway, I hope this isn't taken in a bad way - it is just a formula that has worked very, very well for Elliquiy and I thought you might like to know.

I sent this as a PM also, but I'm not sure it went through:

Emma,

Hello!  I am a former subscriber/author and huge fan of rppstories.com and wanted to renew my membership for some more excitement but noticed that the method for membership is no longer the same.

Having always wished you had a coding system on your site, I'd be happy to get back in that way if there are still some positions available.  Let me know if you're still looking for coders.

A bit of relevant background on myself - I've got my minor in English, and as such am quite capable of categorizing a story.

I am willing to give it a try. It can not be any harder than grading undergraduate topic paper assignments.  Best Andrew

OK - are you a member of RPP Stories? If so, there is a code submission form at the top of each menu page. Look over the codes, read an uncoded story on any page, fill in the blanks and submit it.

I am an editor by trade. I am more than willing to help in any way in editing any stories that are written. Contact me ASAP.

I am a former subscriber/author and huge fan of rppstories.com

I wish that I could draw. In my head are wonderful pictures but alas, I cannot draw.

tussy,

Thanks for dropping by and welcome to the forum. Our primary need at present are people to code existing stories at RPP Stories. The site is in the process of being upgraded which will include a search engine function for the story site.

For that engine to function at it's best, the existing stories need coding. New story submissions require the author to include codes when the story is sent for approval, therefore menu/pages #30 and #31 are fully coded by the authors. Older stories are being coded by volunteers and I'm coordinating the work. Presently, almost 50% of the stories have been coded.

We give volunteers a free 3 days entry to the story site for each story coded and bonuses to folks that code several stories in a short period of time. Several diligent coders have earned 1 year passes for their work. 30 day passes are common for folks that code as few as 10 stories in a couple of weeks.

If you purchase a one month membership at RPP Stories, and then code 10 stories during that month, your second month is free. Code 10 more each month and you will have continuing free membership and our gratitude as well. You can also get a 6 month membership by having one of your original stories accepted for posting at the story site.

Again, welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here. Please contact me by PM if you have any questions.

I would volunteer services as moderator if there was more needed at any point in time.
