If you have a story posted at RPP Stories on any page except 30 or 31, please look to see if it has been coded.

If there are no codes on the title page, please take a moment of your time to code the story. Codes and instructions can be found in the Authors Corner here at the forum.

If you wrote the story, you should be able to code it in five minutes or less. Submitting the codes to me by email may take another two minutes. You can submit one story at a time or put codes for all your stories in one email.

We are trying to code all of the stories for our readers and need your help. Please assist us in improving the story site. It won't take much of your time and will be a big help.

ALL FORUM MEMBERS

Starting today, each page/menu at RPP Stories has a line at the top of the page that says 'Earn extra time by coding stories'. If you click on this line it opens a page containing the story codes and a form to be used to code stories.

Paying members can earn additional time on their account by coding any story they read. It's a simple process that takes about 10 minutes of your time. It will earn you 3 additional days on the site.

Someone that reads a story every day and takes the time to code it, could easily remain a member until they read every story stored there.

Authors can also extend their membership as well. I realize that three days doesn't mean as much to you, but you will be helping to improve the site where your stories are posted. That alone should be enough reason to do this.

We are asking for your help to improve the story site. Please donate a little of your time. It will be much appreciated!

One note re coding stories and getting extra time.  Please check out the codes first, and do try and list as comprehensive a list of the codes as possible.

Since we started doing the 'one story at a time' method, Im happy to say that a bunch of stories and a handfull of folks have submitted codes for various menus.  I wanted to say thank you!   Its such a great way to enhance the site and make it more enjoyable.  Thanks to:  Sprayman, Mothbrad, WolfFerret, Quixote, Sterling7, HardMaster, Dart69, and MrFaja.

Coders

At present, we offer 3 days additional membership for each story coded.

We are making progress but would like to make more. In an effort to urge you to greater efforts, we are going to offer bonuses for coding larger numbers of stories.

Coding 5 stories at a time will rate a 15 day bonus – you will get a month of free membership.

10 stories at a time will gain you a one month bonus, or two months membership.
For 10 stories, you can have 30 days at RPP Stories and 15 days at paintoy.com if you prefer.

RPP Stories will have a new look soon and will have a search feature available. The search feature will allow readers to find stories by a specific author. Once all stories are coded, it will allow you to search for stories by the content as well. The search feature makes coding the stories more important and this is why we are offering the bonuses.

 FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS ASKED!

A number of members have asked when the new web site would be up and running. I’m going to try to answer that question here and now.

We started coding the older stories about September 25th 2007, shortly after the forum opened.

Emma started requiring new stories be coded by the author for submission around November 2007. We have been coding stories ever since and the attached report shows the progress. We wanted ALL stories coded before the new site opened, however that doesn’t look like it will happen.

I can’t believe how few members have coded stories for us in this effort. There is a link at the top of every menu page that takes you to a ‘fill in the blanks’ form along with a list of the codes. Most stories can be coded with this form in about 4 or 5 minutes tops. I can code one in 2 minutes or less, but I’ve had a LOT of practice – because all of the forms come to me for review and formatting. Then I send them to Emma for posting. I code 4 or 5 stories a week on average. We have a few others that code too. Operative word in that sentence – FEW.

You want the new site to open – help us code – simple as that…!
