I went with elves. They have a sort of otherworldly beauty. I don't actually think of angels as being beautiful. Frightening, perhaps, or simply incomprehensible. But not beautiful. Elves are, to a degree, what humans would be were they closer to the divine, and they are more desireable to simply debase.
