Any good mind control/hypnosis stories work on on the basis that the 'subject' knows what they are doing, but can't control themselves, so they're not a 'brainwashed puppet'. There could be some mileage out of brainwashing a victim's friends, etc, so long as she is aware of what is going on. In fact, that's a recurring theme in my writing/ideas (not that I've ever published them).
I like that idea. I'd even written a story about it. But lost it when my HD decided to die. Well I might rewrite it some day.
