One alternative to burying alive can be mummification. It isn't the burying per se, which requires one to get dirty and dig a hole. The girl can be encased in bandages, wet sheets, or some kind of tight fitting bodysuit. If need be, she can then be put in a soundproof box. This would provide the same helplessness and horror with less heavy lifting.  The goal here is terror, mindfuck, and psychological torture. That shouldn't require digging holes in the back yard and uprooting the azaleas.

Another possibility is a water tank with a wet suit, plus earplugs and an air line. For those who like the high tech approach.

For her it's largely the idea of knowing she's been buried alive, under the surface, and no one is going to find her.  While you get many of the same elements with mummification, you miss out on part of the psych approach (and she doesn't get to struggle for life, which is part of the plan).

Why do all of the work for the bitch.  Make her dig her own hole to be buried in.  That just adds to the psychological torture.  Especially if you use a small shovel.  The smaller the better(garden trowel anyone).  And if she doesn't dig fast enough you can always motivate her at the end of a whip.

This is Arael you are talking about. For heavens sake, don't give her anything larger or heavier than a plastic trowel. Otherwise you will be wearing it!!!

I think the burial thing may be powerfully symbolic, but as a practical matter you can get pretty much the same results with mummification. As for making her struggle, you can always limit or stop her air supply, which will produce panic.  And her situation will certainly be hopeless. After enough darkness, immobility, deprivation and suffocation, she will be unable to maintain hope.

But, as always, to each his own.
